A small introduction about my self

Brando Preda

Software Developer from Milan

I'm Brando Preda, an italian Full Stack Software Developer from Milan. I'm passionate in Agile software project management and development. I love being part of the development of a product from it's ideation to the client delivery. Since now I mainly developed eCommerce softwares. I worked on the back-end softwares for TrovaPrezzi.it the major italian online price comparison platform. In this context I learned to apply and love Agile methodolgies to the software development and management process. I'm passionate about XP principles, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Pair Programming.
I attended University of Milan-Bicocca and i got my Master Degree in Computer Science with the score of 110 magna cum laude. My main accademic interests are Object-Oriented Programming, Data Integration, Semantic Web and User Experience.

In my free time I like to play sports like soccer, tennis and skiing. But the real thing I like the most is travelling around the world to discover places and live new experiences.

Full Stack Web Developer

I worked in team of 2 or 4 people on some back-end applications for TrovaPrezzi.it the major italian online price comparison platform. I developed mainly in Java and C# languages using Agile practices like Test Driven Development and Pair Programming to improve our job quality.
Following the Agile principles I have always been involved in project planning, requirements management and client delivery/approval. One of the main projects I have worked consisted in developing a web application for the integration of commercial offers from thousands of different sources.
Also as a side role I have been part of a team with the purpose of organizing team building activities inside the company. Our goal was mainly to achieve better collaboration and better communication using a playful approach while addressing real problems.

Project Management Institute (PMI)

The CAPM is a certification for project practitioners released by the PMI. Is designed for those with less project experience, the CAPM is intended to demonstrate candidates’ understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology and processes of effective project management. The main skills certified by the CAPM are: Scope management, Time management, Risks management, Costs management, Quality management, Communications management, HR management, Procurements management and Stakeholders management.

Master Degree in Computer Science

University of Milan-Bicocca

In 2015 i got my Master Degree in Computer Science at University of Milan-Bicocca with a score of 110/110 magna cum laude. During these two years I improved my experience on Data Integration and Data Mapping. These skills were finalized in the thesis ("STAN: an incremental semantic annotation tool for tables on the web"). During the thesis I developed STAN, a web application for semantic table annotation (the source code is accessible via GitHub). Here is a summary of my thesis in italian and in english.

University of Milan-Bicocca

In 2013 i got my Bachelor Degree in Computer Science at the University of Milan-Bicocca with a score of 103/110. During these three years i discovered the world of computers and programming. During my thesis ("Publishing Linked Data in eCommerce: designing and testing") i focused on AI studying Semantic Web and Linked Data. Here is a summary of my thesis in italian and in english.
